Client Needs / Objectives
Rio Bravo's original website suffered from an outdated design and lackluster color scheme, and it wasn't mobile-friendly. The client wanted a website that would capture the brand's fun essence, enable easy event booking, and facilitate email list building.
My Role
As the sole designer and developer for this project, my responsibilities included layout, visual design, and user experience, with a focus on ease of navigation and effective functionality.
Tools and Technologies
For initial designs, Adobe XD was my go-to tool. The development phase was done in Webflow, supplemented with custom CSS and JavaScript for specific functionalities.
Design Choices
Given that the brand's identity doesn't stick to a specific color palette, I opted for a neutral background. This decision was made to ensure that the brand's vibrant and dynamic design elements would integrate seamlessly without making the website look cluttered. The typography used was a simple sans-serif, in alignment with the brand's existing identity guidelines.
Challenges and Solutions
The main challenge was creating an intuitive and fast user experience that also allowed for the capture of email addresses and event inquiries. Implementing a straightforward navigation and an easy-to-find "Contact Us" and "Book an Event" section helped in overcoming this challenge.
Results
Since the website redesign, the business has seen a significant uptick in customer engagement. Email list building has surpassed the old in-person strategy, and the client reports a 60% increase in event inquiries.
